Traditional Principles New SCI Points
Most "normal" universities have sororities and fraternities.  Delta Zeta sorority has 165 chapters nationwide, and had one at Parsons College in Fairfield until 1973, when the campus was sold to MIU. Maharishi University of Managment offers all the features that other universities do, including the various academic disciplines, but adds the Science of Creative Intelligence (SCI) to the curriculum.  This integrates the knowledge with knowledge of the self, as experienced during the Transcendental Meditation technique.  The Delta Zeta chapter is being re-enlivened with these principles.
Scholarship is a guiding principle of Delta Zeta, but at many campuses, sorority living can interfere with studies and academic progress Sisters develop their full mental potential, through regular practice of the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhis program, and integrating the various academic disciplines, through the Science of Creative Intelligence. Scientific research documents improved learning ability, and increased use of hidden brain reserves
Service is a guiding principle, but usually seldom practiced, perhaps through a community service fund drive or project once a semester.  Some are quite active, such as Northern Kentucky University, Sisters contribute to the community on a daily basis, by enlivening the field of infinite correlation, which forms the foundation of World Peace, the highest service of all.
Sisterhood is a guiding principle Sisters experience, through deep meditation, that they share a common source of thought, feeling, and being.  Thus they naturally treat each other as they would like to be treated, which improves relationships.
At some campuses, alcohol, drugs and artificial foods are sometimes ingested, interfering with the growth of the student Sisters refrain from harmful substances, and favor health promoting organic foods.
Focus on experiencing fun - through group partying Focus on experiencing bliss - through group practice of the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhis Program, including Yogic Flying. Sisters experience the source of happiness, the Unified Field.
The motto is "Enriching each other's lives" Through the growth of higher states of consciousness, one enriches the experience of other people, though the field of infinite correlation, which underlies us all. Enriching one's self is key to enriching the life of others.
Article II "The purpose of this sorority shall be to unite its members in the bonds of sincere and lasting friendship, to stimulate one another in the pursuit of knowledge, to promote the moral and social culture of its members, and to develop plans for guidance and unity in action; objects worthy of the highest aim and purpose of associated effort." Vedic Science enlivens all life supporting areas of sorority life. Scientific research on the TM technique documents improved harmonious relationships with others and improved learning ability.  See: Collected Papers at www.TM.org
In many sorority chapters, students stay up late to study for exams, or for other activities, getting them tired for classes. Delta Zeta sisters generally go to bed by 10:00 pm, which allows them to wake up refreshed, and ready for their daily routine.
On most campuses, students must study for 4 classes at the same time, which often results in focusing on one course, at the expense of others, and stress caused by late night cramming for exams. Sisters on the Invincibility Course maintain a restful routine, which allows them to go deeply in to the Unified Field, the Home of all Knowledge.  Students at Maharishi University of Management take one course at time.  This is augmented by the deep rest through the TM technique.
Traditional Delta Zeta songs enliven bliss in the sisterhood Traditional Vedic recitations by Maharishi Pundits enliven bliss in collective consciousness

In the song "Be Our Guest" are the lyrics
And all this can be yours if you pledge DZ
Come make your life enhanced
This is the perfect chance
To be our guest, if you're stressed, it's Delta Zeta we suggest

The Transcendental Meditation technique has been shown through many independent scientific studies to release stress.
See: Reduced Stress and Anxiety
The Delta Zeta Creed is:
To the world,
I promise temperance, insight and courage
To crusade for justice,
To seek the truth and defend it always.
To those whom my life may touch in slight measure,
May I give graciously of what is mine.
To my friends, understanding and appreciation,
To those closer ones, a love that is ever steadfast,
To my mind, growth,
To myself, faith
That I may walk truly in the light of the flame.
The Delta Zeta Creed is enlivened and extended through SCI.  Through the regular practice of Transcendental Meditation, one feels as if "the world is my family" (Vasu Deva Bhatum Bhkum).  As one grows to higher states of consciousness, the qualities grow: temperance, insight, and courage.  Meditators seek the truth, and their life touches other lives.  The qualities of understanding and appreciation grow along with the use of the full potential of the mind.  Delta Zetas who are Sidhas walk in the light of enlightenment.
